Christmas is Just Around the Corner

While it may have been more than a week since we last updated our blog, the outpouring of generosity in the tri-state has not slowed down. On the contrary, businesses, organizations and community members alike have continued to show unwavering support for SECRET SANTA.

For example, Quinn Chapel Church, A.M.E. will help provide Christmas to more than ten children thanks to their gracious donation.

We would also like to thank both Ohio River Bank, Chespeake Middle School and the Employees at National City Bank for going out of their way to help support our cause.

Other businesses such as Freeman's Heating and Cooling, Workforce Development Resource Center, Wade's Work & Western Wear, Meyers and Neville, LLC, Wal-Mart #1478, Minova USA and the Minova Proctorville Employees have all been so kind as to donate to SECRET SANTA in order to make sure that no child goes without a Christmas in Lawrence County this year.

Other organizations helping support our efforts include the Child Welfare Club and American Legion Post 433, both of Ironton.

Gracious donations from individuals with ties to the local community including Dr. Robert W. Barnett, Jr, D.D.S., J. Brian Frederick M.D., and Dominick and Cara Brook will help to provide gifts for over twenty children this Christmas.

With Christmas just around the corner, we are as busy as ever wrapping up (literally wrapping thousands of gifts) the finishing touches on this wonderful project. We would like to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to all of our supporters. Without your financial support as well as the countless hours you volunteered, many children in our county would have done without this Christmas.

Santa's Helpers Have Been Busy

It has been a while since our last update, but that isn't because good things haven't been happening.

Businesses and organizations alike have been participating in the giving this Christmas season. Recently Walmart provided a sizable donation in support of Secret Santa. Likewise, DESCO Federal Credit Union of Portsmouth, OH has pledged their support as well.

Local businesses such as The Ironton Tribune, Premier Physical Therapy and Workforce Development Resource Center have all provided financial support in helping bring Christmas to Lawrence County. Area organizations such as Ironton Lawrence County CAO and the Tri-State Pilots Association were kind enough to support us in our efforts as well.

Two area churches also took it upon themselves to personally sponsor kids in need. Rome Church of Christ was gracious enough to sponsor 16 children. C3 Church of South Point was kind enough to sponsor 40 kids. Together that is more than $2800 worth of gifts for children in our area. Thanks so much to both churches for their support!

Last, but not least, is BB's Car Club. BB's made an unbelievable contribution to Secret Santa. Not only did they make a financial contribution, but below is a picture of ALL of the brand new toys donated by BB's Car Club.

We would like to express our sincerest thanks to everyone who has helped us bring Christmas to the children of Lawrence County. If you like to help Secret Santa out this Christmas season, but can't make a financial contribution, we are accepting donations of new or gently used bicycles to give to children. If you have a bike that you are interested in donating, please email us at LCYPGroup@gmail.com. If need be, we will even arrange for pick-up of your bicycle.

Stocking Stuffers Come From All Over the Tri-State

With Christmas fast approaching, we have been blessed to have continued support from throughout the tri-state area. Elves and Stocking Stuffers are literally coming out from all over the region in support of Secret Santa. Businesses, civic groups, foundations and community members alike are getting in on the giving this Christmas season!

At the top of the list of those who have recently pledged their support are two of our regions largest health care providers. We are grateful that both Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland and Saint Mary's Hospital in Huntington have committed to supporting our cause.

Other businesses in the area that joined in pledging their support yesterday include Tri-State Rehab of Ironton, McSweeney's Inc. and Global Liquidation Center. Again, we are thankful for the support of each of these businesses in helping us bring Christmas to so many children in Lawrence County!

The spirit of giving was not limited to just hospitals and businesses yesterday. Local civic groups and charitable foundations also pledged their support. Both the Ironton Rotary Club and Chesapeake Lions Club graciously chose to support this year's program. Along those same lines, the First and Ten Foundation has also joined our team.

Please check back often as we will continue to recognize everyone who is helping make Secret Santa a success this year as well as keep you updated on more ways to become involved.
